Write What’s Next!

Creative Writing Contest now open to MCC Students

Lance Klemple, Contributing Writer

As the Fall semester welcomes students back online and on campus, the annual Creative Writing Contest at MCC opens its arms to budding writers. There are three categories available for submission: Creative Non-fiction, Fiction, and Poetry. This year’s theme is on everyone’s mind after a tumultuous past two years titled, “What’s Next?” Cash prizes will be given away to those who place in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in any category, with the dollar amount being $75, $50, and $25, respectively. Up to four pieces may be submitted with any combination of the three categories.

All winners will get their cash prize, a certificate, and will have their work published in River Voices 2021 edition. The Fall Creative Writing Contest is open for submissions until Friday, November 19th by midnight.  For more information on guidelines and requirements, click the link below: https://www.muskegoncc.edu/englishcommunications/mcc-fall-2021-creative-writing-contest/
