Woman in critical condition after being shot at least five times by her husband JSO

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says a lady is in critical condition after being shot by her husband.

Police said they responded to a gunshot at an apartment on Southside Boulevard at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.

It allegedly occurred during a domestic quarrel between the couple, before the husband pulled out a firearm and shot her.

When they arrived, they discovered a woman with five gunshot wounds. A JSO Sergeant reported that she had been shot in the neck, both arms, chest, and side before being brought to a local hospital.

Police detained the suspect.

At 9 p.m., JSO reported that the victim was in critical but stable condition and undergoing surgery for her injuries.

Action News Jax is investigating the suspect’s identity and potential charges.
