WASHINGTON, DC —

A shooting late Friday night on a Southeast DC street left two young males dead and another teen fighting for his life, prompting a double homicide investigation by the city’s Major Case Squad.

A 16-year-old boy, Royell Walker, and a 19-year-old man, Jamar Jackson — both residents of Southeast — were pronounced dead at the scene. A 14-year-old male was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for each victim, totaling $50,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible.

The shooting occurred late Monday night in the Anacostia neighborhood, a historically underserved area that has seen a recent uptick in gun violence. Emergency responders arrived swiftly to the scene, finding three victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite their efforts, two victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while the 14-year-old was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
