With strong marks for academic brilliance, affordability, and postgraduation success in The Princeton Reviews 2025 rankings, the University of Georgia is once again being named one of the best public universities in the country.
On the publication’s list of the Top 50 Best Value Public Universities, which takes into account both return on investment and educational excellence, UGA came in at number 12. In addition, the university ranked No. 8 for public schools’ Best Alumni Networks, No. 10 for financial aid access, and No. 16 for internship placement.
Jere W. Morehead, president of the University of Georgia, expressed satisfaction with the university’s ranking among the best in the country. These successes are a testament to the talent and commitment of our outstanding faculty, staff, and students, whose work keeps improving the university’s standing and influence.
String of national honors
The Princeton Review recognition is the latest in a long line of national awards for UGA. The university received high grades for graduation rates, financial assistance availability, and the number of students who get renowned national honors, earning it 4.5 out of 5 stars in Moneymagazine’s most recent rankings.
Niche also gave UGA its highest honor, an overall A+, placing it at number eleven among public colleges across the country. UGA performed exceptionally well in the following subcategories:
- No. 1 in America for Student Life
- No. 5 for Sports Management
- No. 6 for Business
- No. 7 for Communication
- No. 12 for Best College Campuses
Impressive incoming class
This honor coincides with the arrival of one of UGA’s most successful freshmen classes in school history. Over 47,860 applications were submitted by the institution for autumn 2025, and over 6,200 first-year students were eventually enrolled. Along with an average of 11 advanced courses like AP, IB, or dual enrollment, the incoming class offers an average GPA of 4.17, an average SAT score of 1356, and an average ACT score of 31.
