A two-vehicle crash in Chula Vista on Monday night claimed the lives of two men in their 70s and injured three others.
According to the Chula Vista Police Department, at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Monday, a 41-year-old man from National City was driving west on Telegraph Canyon Road when he attempted to turn left into Apache Drive and collided with an SUV that was headed east.

The SUV overturned, trapping the four occupants, according to the police. They were pulled from the car by firefighters, one of them a 75-year-old man who passed very soon after.
One of the three SUV occupants, a 76-year-old male, passed away while being transported to a hospital.
The remaining passengers were in stable condition, the department reported.

The driver, 41, was brought to a hospital with minor injuries, according to officials.
Police were looking into the crash, although it was unclear what caused it. There was no other information available at the time.
