Three injured, including girl, 6, in Mission Valley East crash

A crash in San Diego’s Mission Valley East neighborhood on Friday left three people, including a 6-year-old girl, with critical but non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision happened at around 1:50 p.m. on Friday when an 18-year-old man driving a 2009 Infinity G37 westbound in the 3200 block of Camino Del Rio North, close to Mission City Parkway, crossed over the solid double-yellow lines and into the eastbound lanes just before colliding with a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro. The collision injured the 35-year-old female driver and a 6-year-old female passenger.

The youngster was assessed and treated for a broken shoulder, and the woman was transported to a hospital for treatment after sustaining a fractured thigh bone.

According to authorities, the 18-year-old driver of the Infinity sustained a lacerated spleen and a shattered thigh bone.

Detectives from the SDPD Traffic Division continued their ongoing investigation Friday night, concluding that alcohol was not a contributing factor in the crash.
