Severe storms possible again Friday

Unfortunately, there is still at least one day left after North Georgia saw strong storms for two days in a row.

All of North Georgia is once again at a moderate (level 1/5) risk of severe storms on Friday afternoon, according to the Storm Prediction Center.

Since the weather pattern is essentially the same as it has been for the last two days, storms should start to form around mid-afternoon and either move slowly to the south or southwest or remain mostly stationary. They will continue to generate a great deal of lightning and the possibility of damaging winds and hail will return.

Although more storms are anticipated, the risk now seems to decline below marginal levels on Saturday.
