Seasonal temperatures and sunny afternoons in weekend forecast

The National Weather Service’s most recent forecast for Saturday and Sunday calls for sunny afternoons and seasonal temperatures in the San Diego area.

High temperatures will range from the mid-70s along the coast to the mid-80s in the valleys and close to 100 degrees in the mountains following sporadic fog and cloudy mornings.

Through Tuesday, the weather service predicted near-average temperatures around the coast and western valleys, coupled with low clouds in the morning and evening.

With waves of one to three feet on Saturday and one foot higher on Sunday, the beaches should see a quiet surf.

Next week, temperatures will rise 5 to 10 degrees above average as the seasonal weather gives way to a warming trend.
