Scripps Spinoff Luau raises $525,000 for cancer nutrition program

The 30th annual Spinoff event, which was held at the Rancho Santa Fe property of longstanding philanthropists Bill and Janie Rohn, brought together Scripps Health supporters on June 12 for a joyous luau. The event with a tropical theme earned $525,000 for Scripps Cancer Center’s cancer nutrition program.

Over 140 attendees savored Polynesian-inspired cuisine and entertainment while learning firsthand how individualized dietary advice is essential for cancer patients to stay strong during their treatment and recuperation.

The event raised an additional $100,000 to help fund the acquisition of cutting-edge radiation oncology equipment.

Brooke Koehler, Susan and Steve Mollenkopf, and Ella and Han Helders supported this year’s event.
