San Diego Weekend Guide: July 11-13 – Bands & Baguettes

Hi there! Fans of two long-running film franchises, as well as Francophiles, have a place to congregate this San Diego weekend. Additionally, if you enjoy listening to music outside, the summertime outdoor concert season is at its height right now.

Wave the white, blue, and red. In honor of Bastille Day and La Jolla’s ties to French art, fashion, music, and other fields, we mean the Tricolore in La Jolla Village, not the Stars and Stripes. The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego will offer free admission (with online pre-registration) as part of the La Jolla Art Walk. Fashion Week San Diego will also showcase their fashion, and local businesses will serve French-inspired music and delicacies. At 4 p.m. on Friday, pick up a map in La Jolla Village and begin walking.

Are you eager for July 24th? Or perhaps you didn’t receive a badge and are looking for another means to get your Comic-Con fix? Dedicated comics and pop culture aficionados may enjoy food and drink specials during the Comic-Con Museum’s Summer Nights, which take place Friday from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Yes, it’s time for another Superman reboot. Clark is a well-known character to those fans, and he has a very impressive alter persona. Visit the Mission Valley shopping center’s AMC Court for a premiere party on Friday at 5 p.m. Pose with Superman and Supergirl, take in live music, and even attempt arm wrestling with the big guy. Oh, and there are two other local theaters in addition to the one in Mission Valley.

Pay attention! Stop reading now and click through to get your ticket if you want to see Top Gun: Maverick, which Lady Gaga collaborated to and has the San Diego Symphony as the score. Few tickets remain for the 7:30 p.m. event at the Rady Shell, which starts at $74 and won’t be available for long.

At noon on Saturday, the second annual North Park Record Fair brings together a passion for vinyl and vegan cuisine. On Saturday at noon, the Chicasonica Fronterizx Vinyl Collective and Vegan Food Pop Up will take place next to North Park Mini-Park.

Parks and plazas offer free summer entertainment, but what about the beach as well? The Encinitas Cultural Arts Division brings artists to Moonlight Beach twice a month in July and August.
