According to authorities, the perpetrator in the shooting death of a teenage kid at National City’s Kimball Park is still at large as of Saturday.
Shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Friday, the National City Police Department issued a news release stating that officers had responded to allegations of gunfire in the park.
They discovered that a 17-year-old boy had been shot during a fight between some young men, and the suspect had left the area.
The wound sustained by the victim is deemed potentially fatal. He was taken to a trauma unit in the area.

Investigators are still working on the case. Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact the NCPD non-emergency number, 619-336-4411, according to the department’s Investigations Division.
