Picture book ‘School Is Great at Silver Gate’ adds mystery, fun to back-to-school season

School Is Great at Silver Gate, a new picture book by San Diego author Linda R. nn and Swedish illustrator Kajsa Hallstr m, is coming out right before the start of the school year.

The book’s lively graphics and lighthearted rhymes bring the ordinary wonder of elementary school to life.

What is it about? The mystery of the missing letters from their school sign is solved by two siblings and their pals. Readers are reminded throughout the day why school can be such a unique place.

“I wanted to convey the essence of our amazing school community,” R nn stated. Many kids—and even adults—can identify with the thrill and wonder of elementary school.

Originally from Sweden, R nn chose the bright beaches of Southern California, where she leads a vibrant family life, over the cold winters back home. Every day is an adventure with her husband, their kids, and a playful dog. She is an introvert and ardent reader who finds inspiration in the small moments of life.
