After reportedly using a samurai sword to attack his brother, a 30-year-old Oceanside man was taken into custody on Sunday.
According to Fox5, at approximately 6:35 a.m. on Sunday, officers from the Oceanside Police Department responded to a report of a deadly weapon attack in the 800 block of Arthur Avenue.
According to the news outlet, when authorities arrived, they discovered a man with severe but non-life-threatening injuries. He was then transferred to a hospital.
The victim was the brother of the suspect, Esteban Rivas, according to the police department, which told the station.
After officers failed to get in touch with Rivas at his home, a SWAT squad was needed to help. After a few hours, Rivas quietly turned himself in and was taken into arrest without any further problems.

The station stated that he was being held without bail at the Vista Detention Facility after being arrested on suspicion of mayhem and assault with a deadly weapon. He is expected to appear in court on Wednesday at the North Division Court.
