Blooming flowers, fresh vegetables, and an opportunity to help out local students? Sure, please.
This summer, North Georgia Technical College is revitalizing Tuesdays by opening its Farmers Market at the Irvin Agriscience Complex. The market at NGTC’s Clarkesville campus is open Tuesday through September 23 from 1 to 5 p.m. It’s a bustling center of delicious homegrown food that can be found by following Loop Road to the greenhouses.
In addition to NGTC’s own Horticulture program showcasing seasonal blossoms, local merchants will sell freshly gathered summer food. The money raised directly supports NGTC’s agriculture and horticulture programs, providing students with a worthwhile opportunity to give back to the community by sharing the fruits (and flowers) of their labor.
According to Stephanie Benson, NGTC’s Vice President of Academic Affairs, “Our students are very proud of their work.” We are happy to provide the public with this chance to appreciate their growth and support the success of our programs.
North Georgia Technical College can be found in Clarkesville at 1500 GA-197.
