Myrtle Beach High-Speed Chase Ends with Gunfire and Arrests

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Police arrested two suspects after a stolen vehicle chase that involved gunfire and a crash on Thursday morning.

How the Chase Unfolded

Officers spotted a masked group in a stolen car around 8:15 a.m. on South Ocean Boulevard.

  • When police tried to stop the vehicle, it sped off, and shots were fired at officers during the pursuit.
  • The chase ended near 67th Avenue North and US Highway 17 after the car crashed.
  • One person was injured in the crash and taken to the hospital.
  • Horry County Police joined the pursuit but left when the crash occurred.

Arrests and Charges

Two suspects were arrested:

  • Riley Pegram, 17, of Brown Summit, NC: Charged with three counts of attempted murder, kidnapping, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, unlawful firearm possession, possession of a stolen vehicle, and failure to stop.
  • Omarion Glass, 20, of Greensboro, NC: Charged with three counts of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and use of a person under 18 to commit crimes.

The two other occupants were released into state custody.

Police Response and Road Closures

Roads near Farrow Parkway and 67th Avenue North were closed during the investigation. Authorities confirmed no one in the community was injured or at risk beyond the suspects involved.

Myrtle Beach Police Chief Amy Prock confirmed the stolen vehicle originated in North Carolina and the chase started near the Twilight Surf Motel.
