According to officials on Monday, a man who barricaded himself inside a Santee home and allegedly opened fire on them when he tried to leave was shot dead by sheriff’s officers.
According to the San Diego Police agency, which is in charge of the investigation, the agency called in a SWAT squad after responding to a report at around noon on Sunday regarding a firearm assault and criminal threats in the 9000 block of Willowgrove Ave.

The suspect refused to speak and stayed locked inside the house when deputies tried to reach him on the phone. For several hours, the sheriff’s deputies attempted to communicate with the suspect, but he would not leave the house.
At one time, deputies thought the man might have shot himself after hearing a gunshot coming from inside the house. To determine whether he required medical assistance, they utilized a drone to find him and pushed open a door.
The suspect was subsequently forced from the premises by deputies using chemical agents, according to the police.
The suspect fired bullets at the deputies after leaving through the front door. According to authorities, the rounds hit the armored car parked in front of the house.
According to the police, the suspect was hit by three deputies brandishing their firearms and was declared dead at the site. We didn’t immediately know his age or name.

The sheriff’s office has employed the deputies who fired their weapons for approximately 15, 11, and 9 years. Body cameras were installed on all three, and they were turned on during the incident. They did not reveal their names. Additionally, the culprit was not identified right away.
The cause of the first standoff was unknown.
