After stealing an undisclosed sum of money from a client during a cash deposit and fleeing the bank in an Imperial Beach getaway car, a guy was taken into custody on Tuesday.
The culprit, later identified as 40-year-old Roberto Galvan, allegedly approached the victim from behind, took her money, and fled the Chase Bank, which is located on the 1100 block of Palm Avenue, shortly before 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

While clinging to the vehicle as Galvan ran away, the victim suffered minor injuries while attempting to stop him, according to the agency. Her name wasn’t made public right away.

Galvan was sighted in El Cajon, according to deputies from the Imperial Beach Sheriff’s Substation. Sheriff’s officials reported that the offender was apprehended without incident after being located with the assistance of the El Cajon Police Department. The victim subsequently identified Galvan, who was taken into custody on robbery accusations.
It was unknown how much money had been stolen and whether it had been recovered.
