Days before turning 80, Loni Anderson, 79, passed away. According to Cheryl J. Kagan, the actress’s longtime publicist, she passed away at a hospital in Los Angeles after a protracted illness, the Associated Press reported on Sunday.
In a statement, Anderson’s family said, “We are devastated to announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, and grandmother.”

Anderson’s most well-known character was Jennifer Marlowe, the platinum blonde receptionist on the Cincinnati sitcom WKRP on CBS.From 1978 until 1982, the program ran on CBS for four seasons. For the series, Anderson was nominated for two Emmys and three Golden Globes.
In addition, Anderson was well-known for her 1988–1994 marriage to actor Burt Reynolds. The divorce between the two celebrities was quite public and acrimonious.
