Atlanta (AP) The Orioles defeated the Atlanta Braves 9–6 on Saturday after Ram and Laureano’s double in the 10th inning gave Baltimore the lead and three home runs.
Jordan Westburg was driven in from third base by Laureano’s double down the third-base line off Rafael Montero (0-1). In the inning, Jacob Stallings added a double and two runs.
For Baltimore, which has won the opening two games of the three-game series, F lix Bautista (1-1) pitched a scoreless ninth inning. For his maiden save, Yennier Cano recorded the final three outs.
Before rapidly fading in the third, Braves left-hander Aaron Bummer notched strikeouts on his first five outs. To start the inning, Tyler O’Neill hit a home run. Bummer allowed Westburg to hit a two-run homer after walking Cedric Mullins.
In the fourth, Baltimore’s Colton Cowser also hit a two-run home run.
In his first start of 374 games over nine seasons, Bummer was the opener. After right-hander Spencer Schwellenbach was placed on the 15-day injured list on Wednesday due to a fractured right elbow, the Braves needed a bullpen game.
Chris Sale (broken rib), AJ Smith-Shawver (Tommy John surgery), and Reynaldo L. Pez (shoulder surgery) were already out of Atlanta’s rotation.
Atlanta’s Matt Olson had three hits, including a homer, and drove in two runs. With two hits, including a two-run homer off Dean Kremer in the first, Austin Riley drove in three runs.

After leaving the game in the fifth inning due to soreness in his right knee, Orioles catcher Gary S. Sanchez was undergoing an MRI. Tony Mansolino, the interim manager, stated that he anticipates learning more about Sanchez on Sunday. Adley Rutschman (left oblique strain), Maverick Handley (concussion), and Chadwick Tromp (lower back strain) are the three Orioles catchers on the injured list. Snchez was replaced by Stallings.
