Four suspects carjack woman in Mission Beach with ‘imitation guns’

Four men who seemed to be carrying guns allegedly carjacked a woman on Friday, prompting a brief police chase in Mission Beach.

At 11 p.m. on Thursday, the two men and two women suspects met the victim and started chatting. The San Diego Police Department said it was unclear what their relationship was.

Around five twenty in the morning on Friday, two of the suspects who were riding in the victim’s automobile pulled out what turned out to be fake guns and told the victim to get out of the car. According to authorities, the suspects then left 3150 Mission Blvd., close to the Belmont Park intersection.

When police conducted a traffic stop, the car was in San Diego’s downtown. According to the department, a pursuit started after the driver failed to react.

Three of the suspects escaped the van on foot after police installed tire deflation devices on it, but they were caught soon after.

According to authorities, the fourth suspect was also captured after remaining inside the car.

One fake gun was found in the car, according to the police.

The car’s brand and type were not disclosed, and there were no reports of injuries.
