Two more of the five victims who died in a flaming pileup on State Route 67 north of San Vicente Reservoir ten days ago have been formally named by authorities.
Five individuals were killed in the three-vehicle collision in eastern Poway on July 18, including Emmanuel Rivera Abarca, 32, and Marcial Rivera Solorio, 59, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office and Medical Examiner’s Office. The GoFundMe page stated that the two were father and son.
Around 12:30 p.m. that day, Roberto Martinez Oros, 68, who was identified last week, was traveling south when a northbound Chevrolet Silverado 1500 drove into his lane at a fast speed and collided with his Honda Civic close to Iron Mountain Drive, according to authorities.
Shortly after, the Honda was struck by a Toyota Tacoma carrying three passengers.
Along with the other car occupants, Oros, a Ramona resident who was alone in the sedan, passed away at the scene of the collision, according to Sheriff’s Lt. Colin Hebeler. Although Abarca was identified as the driver of one of the two pickup trucks involved, it is still unknown which of the two vehicles Solorio and Abarca were in.
The identities of the other two wreck victims have not yet been made public by the medical examiner.
The reason of the pileup, which triggered a roadside brush fire that engulfed roughly a half-acre before firefighters were able to put out the flames, has also not been determined by authorities.

Hebeler stated last week that deputies are still looking into what led the Silverado to cross into oncoming lanes. Additionally, they are examining footage from a passing vehicle that shows the crash.
