Driver, 23, killed in crash into tree in Vista

In Vista, a 23-year-old man was killed Friday after colliding with a tree.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office reported that at around 3:45 p.m., deputies from the Vista Sheriff’s Station responded to reports of a crash at the 700 block of Shadowridge Drive, approximately a quarter-mile south of state Route 78.

Just before he entered the center median and collided with a nearby tree, the motorist was driving an eastbound car.

After being transported to a hospital, the driver passed away.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Vista Sheriff’s Station Traffic Unit were looking into the driver’s identity and the reason behind the crash.

It was advised that anyone with knowledge about the deadly collision give 858-565-5200 a call.
