Authorities sought assistance in solving a cold case involving the unexplained death, maybe murder, of an unnamed woman whose body was discovered in an East County bush area.
According to El Cajon police, the woman, who may have been in her 30s, was discovered dead on August 13, 1998, in the 1300 block of Avocado Avenue.
The body was adorned with a blue T-shirt that said “Woodruff Warriors 20 Year Reunion 1971-1991,” black shoes, and a silver herringbone bracelet.
According to the cops, she was a brunette who weighed around 110 pounds and was about 5 feet 2 inches tall. She also displayed evidence of having had at least one previous pregnancy. According to DNA tests, the woman may have had a relative in the San Diego area and ancestors from Michoacan, Mexico.
Police have issued a sketch of the woman’s alleged appearance, but they have not explained why they suspect the woman may have died at the hands of someone else.

El Cajon police posted a need for assistance on social media on Tuesday, stating that DNA could be the key to identifying a woman who has been lost to justice and time. There is someone out there who recognizes her. Even after more than twenty years, her narrative has yet to be resolved.
They attributed their ability to identify her potential origins to developments in forensic technology.
Detectives are asking anyone with information that could help them identify the woman and discover how she died to get in touch with the El Cajon police Cold Case Unit at 619-593-5774 or [email protected].
