London (AP)In the Wimbledon men’s semifinals, Jannik Sinner meets Novak Djokovic, while Carlos Alcaraz takes on Taylor Fritz.
No. 2 seed Alcaraz vs. No. 5 Fritz will start the match at around 1:30 p.m. local time, followed by No. 1 Sinner vs. No. 6 Djokovic. Both matches are set to take place at Centre Court on Friday.
To determine the winner, the two victors will square off on Sunday.
Alcaraz defeated Djokovic in the final to win the All England Club’s last two trophies.
A month ago, Alcaraz defeated Sinner in a thrilling five-set final after saving three match points, and he is currently riding a career-best 23-match winning streak.
At the age of 22, Alcaraz of Spain has won five Grand Slam championships overall. Sinner, a 23-year-old Italian who won the Australian Open in January, has three children. Together, they have accumulated the final six majors.
Of course, that is nothing in comparison to what Djokovic has achieved. The 38-year-old Serbian is currently bidding for a 25th Slam trophy, which would put him above of all other tennis players in history. He already owns 24 Slam titles, which is the most for a man.
Additionally, he might win his eighth Wimbledon championship, tying Roger Federer’s men’s record. With nine singles victories, Martina Navratilova is the All England Club’s all-time record holder.
Fritz, a Californian who is 27 years old, is aiming for his maiden Grand Slam victory. He finished second to Sinnerat at the U.S. Open the previous year.
