Captain Neal’s final call

This is the last call for City of Toccoa Police Department Officer Eddie Neal, Badge number 103.

A 27-year veteran of the force retired after saying those statements.

On July 31, Captain Neal finished his last tour of duty. In accordance with custom, E-911 Dispatch marked the event by sending out a final call over the police radio, signaling the end of his career.

The dispatcher commended Officer Neal for maintaining the principles of his profession and stated that he has served with courage, honor, and integrity over the years.

We pay tribute to your dedication, selflessness, and legacy today. For the final time, you are 10-7, 10-42, Officer Neal, badge number 103.

Thank you. We honor you. “You will always be a part of this family,” the dispatcher remarked, before wishing you a long, healthy, and happy retirement.

As the signal was aired over the parking lot, Neal’s longtime coworkers watched. Before Captain Neal’s final farewell, there was a loud cheer.

Families, friends, and coworkers came together for a retirement celebration in Neal’s honor. He was wearing a t-shirt that read “Retired Police Officer,” which said it all. It’s time to put it under arrest.
