Brush fire temporarily shuts down Oceanside Municipal Airport

According to a fire department spokesman, a brush fire that burnt three acres close to Oceanside Municipal Airport on Saturday momentarily halted air traffic operations.

At 1:46 p.m., the fire was reported to have started at 480 Airport Road. The Oceanside Fire Department said in a news release on Saturday.

According to Blake Dorse, a division chief with the OFD, the fire swiftly extended onto airport property. However, within roughly ninety minutes, responders were able to stop the fire’s further advance.

According to him, crews spent many hours on the scene cleaning up and making sure there were no hot spots.

According to Dorse, a fire investigator was stung by a bee but did not need hospital transportation.

There were no other injuries or structural damage, according to the OFD.

According to Dorse, this occurrence is a crucial reminder of how swiftly wildfires may spread, particularly in the arid and hot summer months. In order to prevent wildfires, the Oceanside Fire Department advises locals and guests to exercise caution and adopt preventative measures.

The cause of the fire is still being looked into.
