Boil Water Advisory in effect for some Clarkesville Water customers

According to the Clarkesville Public Works Department, workers have fixed a water main break that caused consumers on the southwest side of town to lose service. Around mid-afternoon on Sunday, June 29, a break occurred on Swain Street, resulting power outages in multiple communities.

A Boil Water Advisory has been issued by the Water Department for Memorial Drive, Mockingbird Lane, Richard Street, Sunset Street, Swain Road, and View Street as a precaution.

Before drinking, cooking, or making baby food with tap water, city water users in the impacted areas are urged to bring it to a rolling boil for at least two minutes.

Until further notice, the advisory is in force. When the advisory is lifted, the city will let customers know via local media and Nixle.
