Argument near Encanto restaurant ends in shooting

A 29-year old woman was shot multiple times during an argument with another woman in the Encanto area, police said.

Officers were called to the 6200 block of Imperial Ave. at about 6:30 p.m. Monday, according to the

San Diego Police Department

They said the victim was standing near the entrance to the restaurant 664 TJ Birrieria in Trolley Stop Plaza when the suspect pulled out a gun and shot her multiple times.

The victim was taken to a hospital and went into surgery for gunshot wounds to her stomach and multiple gunshot wounds to her arm, police said. She was said to have stable vital signs.

Police said the suspect is of an unknown age and was wearing dark clothes, boots and carrying a white purse. It was not known what led to the argument.

Six .380 shell casings were found at the scene.

Detectives from the department’s Southeastern Division responded to the scene and will be handling the investigation. Anyone with information related to the shooting was asked to call (619) 527-3500 or
