by Acting President John Yarbrough of Truett McConnell University in Cleveland updated the White County Rotary Club at their meeting on Tuesday as the university proceeds with an independent inquiry into recent allegations of sexual abuse and a cover-up.
According to him, the Director for Title IX and Student Advocacy job has been promoted to full-time status, allowing students to voice any concerns in a private setting. The university has also offered support to any academic or staff members who are struggling to deal with the fallout from these immoral actions.
According to Yarbrough, as the school gets ready for the fall semester students next month, everything is proceeding as planned. He expressed his optimism that this fall will witness the university’s largest enrollment.
Yarbrough expressed gratitude for the community’s support following the meeting.
Since many individuals have expressed concern regarding Truett, I would want to thank everyone for their support. However, I really believe that Truett will come out stronger and more determined than it has been in the past, Yarbrough added. To further protect our children, we have implemented several measures.
He stated that the present probe will determine how things are handled.
The trustees will release a report and make a final judgment regarding what needs to be done to address any unresolved issues from the past.
