The nomination season for Cox Enterprises’ 2025 Cox Conserves Heroes program opened on Monday.
Through the James M. Cox Foundation, anybody can nominate a local volunteer or organization between now and August 24 for a chance to earn up to $30,000 for their preferred environmental NGO.
As a component of Cox Enterprises’ nationwide sustainability program, Cox Conserves Heroes honors people and NGOs who are improving the environment. According to a news release, these heroes are actively conserving or reusing water and carbon/energy, or are limiting waste sent to landfills, in keeping with Cox’s sustainability aims.
This is how it operates:

Three finalists will be chosen by an internal council for each of the following categories: The Jim Kennedy Conservation Award (nonprofit organization), Planet Protector (youth under 18), and Groundbreaker (adult 18+).
2. On October 6–12, cast your vote for your favorite hero. Videos on each finalist will be available on the Cox Conserves Heroes website.
