Ada is one of the recently appointed leaders. Clovis Honor is the second vice chair, Bonnie Benitez, Esq. is the first vice chair, and Liz Rodriguez is the chair.
The San Diego Police Department’s independent community oversight organization, the Commission on Police Practices, has the authority to look into, evaluate, and audit police behavior. The commission’s goal is to improve public trust and hold law enforcement more accountable to the community, which will boost public and officer safety.
Rodriguez has 12 years of decorated service in the U.S. Navy and is a quality engineer and project manager. She has a B.S. and M.S. in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and is certified in Change Management and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. Rodriguez is also a court-appointed special advocate for Voices for Children and a board member of Friends of O Farrell, Inc. In February 2024, Rodriguez was appointed to the CPP.
As the CEO and Executive Director of Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, Benitez, Esq., supports trial attorneys who represent people whose rights have been infringed. She holds a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law and a B.S. from Arizona State University. Through Fieldstone Leadership Network, CA Labradors, Retrievers & More, and Mid-City CAN, where she is the board secretary, Benitez is actively involved in the local nonprofit community. In May 2023, Benitez was named to the CPP.

Honor has long been a social justice activist and community advocate. Honor, a San Diego State University alumnus, has worked with groups such as Alliance for African Assistance, UAAMAC, San Diego Area Congregations for Change, and the NAACP San Diego Branch, where he was President. He is currently a member of Christian Fellowship Congregational Church’s social justice board and works for GRID Alternatives. In May 2023, Honor was named to the CPP.
