Firefighters are battling three brush fires burning near each other in the area of Lyons Valley and Honey Springs roads east of Jamul, according to Cal Fire.
The 50-acre blaze, dubbed the Springs Fire, is causing no immediate structural threats, officials said, but evacuation orders have been issued, along with warnings for other residents to prepare to leave their homes.
The orders cover an area north of Lyons Valley Road, south of Wisecarver Truck Trail, Carveacre Road and Oak Valley Trail, east of Wisecarver Truck Trail and Lyons Valley Road and west of Carveacre and Lyons Valley Road.

A temporary evacuation center has been set up at Regal Edwards Cinemas 2951 Jamacha Road in El Cajon.
The fire, reported around 6:20 p.m., is burning in steep, rocky terrain with medium brushy fuels in the far eastern reaches of the county. The area is south of the Cleveland National Forest and west of the Pine Creek and Hauser wilderness areas.

Forward progress of the westernmost of the three fires, at Skyline Truck Trail, has been stopped, according to Cal Fire. But Watch Duty, a nonprofit fire service, said the center fire was burning toward the eastern blaze.
Crews are fighting the flames on the ground and by air.
In addition, authorities have traffic controls in place along Lyons Valley, Wisecarver Truck and Skyline Truck trails, Honey Springs Road and Japatul Valley Road.
