Georgia’s Jackson County. All northbound lanes of Interstate 85 near the Commerce/Maysville exit were temporarily closed due to an early-morning fire involving an 18-wheeler transporting garbage.
Four departments of firefighters arrived on the spot. According to the Commerce Fire Department, crews moved swiftly to put out the fire.
The cause of the fire is yet unknown. There were no reported injuries.
After a period of closure, northbound lanes are again available again.
