Widespread power outage hits SDG&E customers in Eastern San Diego County

On Monday, a power outage in large areas of eastern San Diego County left about 10,000 homes and businesses without electricity.

San Diego Gas & Electric reported that 9,932 customers in Casa De Oro, La Presa, Rancho San Diego, and Spring Valley were without power due to a blackout that occurred shortly after 5 p.m. on Monday.

By 10:30 p.m., SDG&E anticipated that all impacted customers would have their service back.

The utility stated that it was investigating the reason of the outage.
