Mason Whelchel Meaders honored for 50 years of service

Recently, Yonah Lodge #382 honored Whelchel Meaders for his more than 50 years of devoted Masonic service.

Chad Pruitt, the Grand Lodge of Georgia’s District Deputy Grand Master, and Lodge members honored Meaders’ more than fifty years of dedication to the Masonic Lodge by presenting him with mementos during a ceremony at his residence.

According to a news release, the 50-Year Plus Service Award is a noteworthy achievement that honors a member’s committed service and steadfast adherence to Masonic principles for more than 50 years. Yonah Lodge representatives conveyed their sincere gratitude for Meaders’ steadfastness, guidance, and silent power as a devoted brother.

Being held at his house with his wife of 68 years, Eunice Meaders, and their family added even more significance to the service.

Along with the Meaders’ grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including one on the way, his daughters Melanie Williams and Karan Sosebee, along with her husband Terry, attended the event.

With four generations in attendance, the ceremony was a heartfelt remembrance of Meader’s devotion to the Masons and his enduring legacy as a loving father, grandpa, great-grandfather, and husband. His family was extremely proud of his achievement and thanked Yonah Lodge for celebrating his lifetime of service.
